Arrowhead District Town Hall (Roundtable)
February 9, 2023 | 7:00 pm

A town hall is a district monthly meeting held on the second Thursday of the month at St. Justin Martyr Catholic Church - CFC Room #106 (13350 Ashford Point Dr., Houston, 77082) to help unit leaders plan and carry out their own program. Roundtable is a form of supplemental training for volunteers. The objective of roundtable is to give leaders program ideas, information on events and training opportunities, and an opportunity to share experiences and enjoy fun and fellowship with other Scouting leaders. As a result of the roundtable experience, unit leaders will be inspired, motivated, informed, and able to provide a stronger program for their Scouts. See the handouts from previous roundtables. Arrowhead District Committee Meeting
February 2, 2023 | 7:00 pm
District committee meetings are typically held the first Thursday of every month from 7:00 - 8:00 pm. Consisting of chartered organization representatives (CORs) and elected district committee members, the district committee coordinates the functions of the district. The purpose of the district is to work through chartered organizations and community groups to organize and support successful units. The end result of effective district support is more and more youth members receiving a better and better program.
Camporee
April 14-16, 2023
Camporee is a weekend campout for troops and crews around the district. Patrols compete in various competitions and are judged on leadership, teamwork, skill demonstration, and Scout spirit.
The planned activities include traditional Scout skills, pioneering, knots and lashings, fire building, first aid, orienteering, nature study and more! Each troop will need to run an activity. There will be a patrol Best Dinner cooking completion and a Scoutmaster Dutch oven Cobbler of the Year dessert contest for units. Each troop should prepare two skits or songs for the Saturday campfire and awards ceremony.
Every troop must send a representative to the December, January, February and March roundtable to help plan the camporee. Every troop needs to run an activity (e.g., competition, facilities). This year’s camporee promises to challenge the youth leadership, as well as stretching everyone else’s comfort zones. These events cannot happen without each Scout’s competitive spirit and participation. The event is being held at Long Acres Ranch (2335 Richmond Parkway, Richmond, TX 77469). The troop leadership needs to RSVP with an approximate headcount for planning purposes by January roundtable.
